- General
- Online and offline viewing.
- Multithreaded interface - view messages whilst replying to others, and having preferences windows open, continue to use the program whilst uploading and downloading news.
- Multiple users, each with their own logins, optional password protection, newsgroups listings, preferences, and location on hard disk for storing news messages.
- Import function which reads in all news items from a given directory (and all sub-directories) allowing you to easily import
news from your old newsreader.
- Option to delete messages after a certain number of days.
- Multiple newsservers.
- Download Group list (for each newsserver).
- Group list Manager - view all groups, search for groups.
- Obtain New Newsgroups from newsserver option.
- Can access newsservers which need user/password authentification.
- Can view newsgroups list in a 'tree' format.
- Choose what information to display in the messages list (eg, From, Subject, Size etc).
- "Graphical" Toolbar (it has the capacity for graphics, but no graphics currently supplied so it's still text-only atm - please send me some!)
- Control Over Which Posts to Download
- Killfile on any header.
- Killfiles can either be created manually, or automatically from a particular message (eg, kill this thread, kill messages from this author, etc).
- Keep track of creation date in killfiles.
- Auto-expire date for killfiles (either since creation, or since last used).
- Choose not to download messages greater than a certain number
of lines (limit can be set for each newsgroups).
- Can limit the number of posts to download for each newsgroup (in which case, only the most recent ones are downloaded).
- Special 'advert' killfile which kills messages with subject line ending in a number with at least three digits (such messages tend to be adverts or other commercial spams).
- Viewing Messages
- Configure which headers to display.
- View messages by subject, sender, date etc.
- View messages as 'threaded' list
- MIME Version 1.0 for decoding files - can decode Quoted-Printable, base64 and uuencoded messages.
- Save/View messages/images/etc (either all, or individual parts in multipart messages).
- MIME Preferences - for viewing MIME messages with external programs of your choice.
- HTML only messages are converted to text.
- Button on view window to delete current message and move onto the next one.
- Button on view window to go to previous message in this thread (ie, one that the message was replying to).
- .sig separator '-- ' appears as a graphical line.
- Messages which you haven't read yet are marked as 'Unread'.
- *, /, _ and # are converted to bolds, italics, underlines and coloured - but this can be turned off (no more unreadable programming NGs that you get in some newsreaders).
- Coloured quoted text.
- Configurable colours for quoted text and '#' coloured text.
- Find Text option.
- Rot13 decode selected text.
- Can mark messages as being 'Important' (they are then highlighted).
- Composing Messages
- Email support to reply to sender.
- Recognises 'Followup-To: poster' header, and warns accordingly.

- You can have eight signatures, with a default specified for each newsgroup.
- Can either edit .sigs in the program, or read in from a text file.
- Post Immediately, Queue or Postpone messages.
- 'Supersede message' option, to replace your old messages on a
newsserver.
- 'Cancel message' option, to cancel one of your old messages on a
newsserver.
- Option to place 'X-No-Archive: yes' in the header (either for all messages, or when you are following up to a message that has it in the header).
- You can edit your name / email that will appear on the message you are currently writing.

- Option to automatically add an 'Approved:' header, for newsgroup moderators.

- Archive messages into a single text file.
- Search facilities - can search in a particular header, or in any header, the message body, or the entire message.
- Statistics options (eg, how many messages posted by each person, etc).
- Can display 'alternative name' instead of actual newsgroup name in groups list window.
- 'Deleted' folder, rather than deleting messages immediately.
- Move/Copy messages between folders.
- Text based toolbar on main window.
- Month names ('Jan', 'Feb', etc) are translated to the local language for your computer.
- Option to reset 'article pointers' (useful if you switch newsserver being used for a newsgroup).
